"I was born in New York City and grew up in the U.S, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. I returned to New York for my undergraduate degree at Columbia University. After graduating, I spent one year working at a Contract Research Organization helping to conduct research in pharmocogenetics and vascular devices. I went on to obtain my medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine--upon graduation, I was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
