"I grew up on the south shore of Long Island in Merrick, NY. I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame majoring in Science Pre-Professional Studies before getting my medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis. I completed my internship at Northwell Health-North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Hospital. In terms of research I have studied tumor derived extracellular vesicles, genomics in leukemia, predictors of distant metastases in triple negative breast cancer, as well as mobile health interventions working as an independent researcher for a startup company while I was in medical school. In my free time I like to exercise and after boxing in college I have moved on to Crossfit as a way to stay active and I have competed in several local Crossfit competitions. My other hobbies include reading, listening to audiobooks, meditating, and watching college football. My interest in wellness in general has led me to visualize wellness as a continuum extending beyond simply sick or well, and I have become passionate about not only restoring sick patients to health as a physician, but also striving to help people become incrementally more well whether that is my patients, peers, or the institutions of which I am a part." - Christopher Tricarico, MD
