Brain Metastases occurs when cancer cells spread from their original site to the brain. The Brain Metastasis Tumor boards provide a comprehensive strategy for treating Brain Mets by assembling a team of specialized physicians from various fields. This group is composed of experts from distinct medical areas, all dedicated to addressing a particular cancer type. They convene to examine patient cases, share insights, engage in constructive debates, and explore diverse treatment possibilities. By fostering robust collaboration and synergy, these boards enable patients to access seamlessly coordinated care and an ideal treatment strategy. Furthermore, patients gain the advantage of multiple expert perspectives without the need for individual consultations with each specialist. Typically, Brain Met tumor boards comprehensively assess all pertinent data related to a patient's case, encompassing medical records, diagnostic findings, pathology slides, and various imaging studies like MRIs and CT scans. Subsequently, the patient's doctor communicates the tumor board's recommendations to them after the meeting's conclusion. This conference is accredited through the Continuing Medical Education (CME). Participants receive 1.5 CME credits by attending this conference. Medical professionals who want to submit a case need to complete a disclosure form before presenting.
