"I was born and raised in Conway, South Carolina, a small town just a few miles inland of Myrtle Beach. After high school, I traversed the state to attend Clemson University (go tigers) where I majored in biochemistry and genetics. Before entering medical school, I spent a year doing research at Dartmouth in a molecular immunology lab focusing on TNF-alpha transcript metabolism. My next stop would bring me to Cleveland, OH to enroll in the MD/PhD program at Case Western Reserve University where I trained under Dr. Sanford Markowitz studying colorectal and esophageal cancer genetics for my thesis research.  I completed my intern year at University Hospitals in Cleveland prior to joining the radiation oncology residency program here at New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medical Center.
